What type of website will you need for your new business?

You’ve done your research, conducted your marketing, and developed your business plan, and now it’s time for execution – design the website and go to market. Getting the website right is crucial to the success of your new venture, but what type of website will you need?
There are a couple of considerations you need to take into account; will your new venture be a shop window or a full eCommerce shopping experience? Either way, you will need a website; and the right one for your business. You’ll need to decide whether to create a bespoke website tailored to your business model or an off-the-shelf stock web design.
There are many ready-made online solutions that allow people with little or no experience the ability to create their own websites. These sites however only provide you with a couple of formula-based template pages, with stock text and image boxes. Whilst this can seem like the easier choice at first, with just at a few clicks of a mouse, this will change as your business grows and develops. You will want a website that grows with it.
Thinking about your business and your customers will help you make these decisions. For example, you may also need to collect payments online, potentially from international customers, what language do you want them to read and what currency will they be allowed to pay in? Will you need a shopping cart, with secure payment processing? This won’t come from a do-it-yourself web design.
Once your website is up, you’ll need to engage with customers and make their shopping experience memorable. In doing this they’ll be more likely to buy more than initially needed when browsing and make repeat visits, becoming loyal customers. The best way to do this is through a unique website, which works for your business and your customers.
